Hahn and Hahn Team is regarded as an expert in raising the level of community awareness on the issue of affordable housing. The firm was selected by the State of Florida Department of Community Affairs to conduct the landmark statewide inventory analysis of publicly owned lands suitable for the development of affordable housing. The study encompassed a 12-county, 1,000-site demonstration program. In 1994, Bob Hahn was selected by the Mayor of the City of Orlando , Glenda Hood, to serve on the housing committee of the Orlando Naval Base Reuse Commission to provide expertise in evaluating the affordable housing potential of properties impacted by the base’s closure. Mr. Hahn has served as principal investigator and principal advisor to the Orange County, Florida Department of Housing and Community Development responsible for preparing the County’s Affordable Housing Incentive Plan and Expedited Review Process. Hahn and Hahn Team provided land use planning and affordable housing development advisory services to affordable housing developers (for-profit and non-profit) throughout Central Florida and the State of Florida. Mr. Hahn’s active community service in the field of affordable housing is reflected in his role as Chairman of the Regulatory Reform Committee of Orange County’s Affordable Housing Task Force and member of the City of Orlando, Florida Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. The Hahns have served as lecturer, guest speaker and principal author on more than fifteen “real world” affordable housing publications addressing successful solutions at the local and state level for overcoming regulatory reform barriers to providing affordable housing.
